PARKING HOUSE -
PARK IN THE HOUSE
Social space

In the seminar on "Artificial Intelligence" I looked at the future use of inner cities in connection with traffic. The post-war parking garages, once a symbol of the economic miracle, are no longer needed due to the decentralized accommodation of self-driving cars in space-saving hubs.

The new design for the existing parking garage creates a center that connects the surrounding neighborhoods and serves as a meeting place. The structure consisting of the supporting structure and driving ramps remains intact, but is loosened up by new airspace and box-like usage units. This creates interesting volumes and open spaces. We pay particular attention to the access paths, which recreate the original movement of cars and become a quality place to stay through arcades and bridges.
The characteristic design language of the parking garage is retained, while sloping parking levels are continued in horizontal bridges and create an open air space. Through different perspectives, the parking garage improves quality of life and promotes exchange.
